Bluebell Walk is 100% owned by Armstrong Brooks Group which in turn is 100% owned by me, Bob Cory
In March 2018 we bought the old Marks & Spencer building in Oak Mall on Hamilton Way in Greenock. The building covers some 50,000 sq ft (or 5,000 sq m if you think in metres) and is now known as Bluebell Walk
The town is right on the river Clyde about 20 miles north of Glasgow and Scotts of Greenock built 1,250 ships here over two centuries. But this is not a grimy industrial place. On the contrary, it is bright and cheerful with amazing views across the estuary.
The population is just over 40,000 people and cruise ships regularly dock here. When the new terminal is ready, there will doubtless be more ships arriving and I think the future is very positive. I used to live in Gibraltar and when the cruise ships came in there was a tidal wave of people looking for places to spend money (at Bluebell Walk, please)
Plans
My intention is to turn the entire building into dozens of very small shops. Not cheap and tacky but expensive glass and steel - something you will be pleased to visit or trade from.
What is Happening?
Initially the scheme consists of 10 small shops on the ground floor facing Costa - selected to be interesting and useful rather than just maximising rents. Once these ten have been let, we will construct a further 30 shops further back (the entire ground floor is 25,000 sq ft). There will be a kiddies play area, food outlets and lots of free fun stuff!
We ARE Open!
All 10 initial units have been built and 8 of them are now let! Obviously we were held up by the Virus but since then we have made good progress. Accordingly we are now planning Phase 2 in detail. Please see Bob's Blog above for a day to day progress report
